The role of [[Stimulants]] is to provide you with a satisfying amount of baseline dopamine so you do not need to seek it through other activities, and can then just focus on the task at hand.
- This is why people with ADHD are prone to addiction. You indulge in stimulating activities to meet your requirement for dopamine, which makes you find it naturally stimulating. Sure you are now able to focus on other things, but why not just continue to hyper-fixate on the thing that made you feel better?
This could potentially explain why we need more stimulation, which can be even sometimes seen as multitasking. It overloads the normal person, but for neurodiverse people it keeps adhd chill
