- Events & Activities. I feel like this is super underrated. There is a bunch of advice out there saying to do "nitro giveaways" and things like that but most sever owners, don't have nitro or don't have money to pay for it. This is where you need to get creative with your events, and write down ones that would be interesting and fit your server the best. For example, some events/activities you could have are Question of the day pings, server challenges, daily discussion pings, random question pings, QNA events, movie/book review events, etc. You need to get creative and create roles that people can get in order to be pinged when that event or activity has started. - Your members need a GOOD reason to be in your server. If it is just another generic, normal server that does not stand out, why should they stay? If nothing goes on in your server and you rarely update people on whats going on, why should you stay? You need to go into the servers that you are active in yourself and the ones you are not active in and see why you are/arent active in them. You could even get inspiration from these servers and use some of their tactics in your own server (dont directly copy them though) - My last tip is that YOU as the server owner, need to be the most active person in your community. If you dont have time to be on your discord server 24/7, thats fine, but all you need to do is dedicated 10-20min a few times per day, just to make conversation with members, welcome new ones, check up on the server, etc. If people see that YOU are active within your server, they are going to want to be motivated to active as well.
