synoptic integration that addresses equivocation, fragmentation and ignorance
## Disciplines
- technically, lots of things study the mind
- brain, physical examination - neuroscience
- information processing - computer science, artificial intelligence, AGI
- behavior - psychology
- language, communication to link minds - linguistics
- culture, networked minds - anthropology, participatory to know what a culture is
- science is fragmenting what the mind means, and is therefore fragmenting ourselves
- to get all these different disciplines integrated, we turn to cognitive science
## Resources
*All taken from Reddit, have yet to start*
- "Cognitive Science An Introduction to the Study of Mind" by Friedenberg Et al. And a text she uses in one of her graduate courses is "Mind, Body, World Foundations of Cognitive Science" by Dawson. Those are the primary books I'm focusing on, since it's from an actual college class.

I read a lot on cognitive and can recommend many books.
If I had to pick just two on the historical aspect, I'd go with:
[Robinson, D. N. (1995). An intellectual history of psychology. Univ of Wisconsin Press.](https://uwpress.wisc.edu/books/0136.htm)
and
[Margaret A. Boden. (2008). Mind as machine: A history of cognitive science. Oxford University Press.](https://global.oup.com/academic/product/mind-as-machine-9780199241446?cc=za&lang=en&)
And on the cognitive science aspect, I'd go with:
[Friedenberg, J., Silverman, G., & Spivey, M. J. (2021). Cognitive science: an introduction to the study of mind. Sage Publications.](https://us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/cognitive-science/book259373)
and
[Solms, M. (2021). The hidden spring: A journey to the source of consciousness. W. W. Norton.](https://wwnorton.com/books/9780393542011)
