If you [[Time tracking|track your time]] and ongoing commitments then you're aware of how much extra time you have for external obligations which helps know your limits. This prevents internal and external [[Burnout]].

In [[My Alignment Philosophy]], this is done through
- Clarified missions
-
- Periodic priorities
- Control is found by setting fixed numeric limitations on projects you can work on at once, which also provides clarity by externalizing your commitments beyond your mind
- Daily goals
- The timeless suggestion of a top 3 priorities
- In [[Akiflow]] I just mark it as a "Goal" for the day

## External Burnout
This gives you substantial reasoning to push back against deadlines, especially in the workplace where people may try to impose things onto you without full awareness of your current workload. But saying no only feels hard when you don't have logic to back it up in a corporate world.
if you say, hey I've been tracking my time and I've been measuring with an optimal amount of work for me and it seems to be this number, therefore I can't do what you're asking of me, then they are more likely to continue.
To be able to get this to work you have to be someone who's known for being responsible and organized, so they trust that you are putting in effort and know your limitations.
To put this into practice, we can turn to [[My Alignment Philosophy]]
