I came across this idea of monetizing your knowledge from [[Alex Hormozi]].
I think this is a fair compromise between helping with [[Collective learning pursuit]] while still being able to continue by making a living from it.
People pay for transformation and convenience, but information may not always provide that.
I would rather not follow the paths of [[Online Creator Frauds]] where I charge money for selling empty promises and dreams 😅
Instead, value comes from the labor you put towards helping people make this transformation through convenience.
For example, in [[Ultimate Starter Vault]] I tell people what plugins I use and share my workflows, and if you have the time you can piece together how you can create my vault workflows yourself to find a personalized version that suits you.
The assumption is that people will proactively support you if you've already genuinely helped them with free resources.
## Give the Solution
- Naturally related to just the game you have to play when making content for the algorithm as you have to focus on virality and [[YouTube Retention]] anyways.
- Awareness based on virality and evergreen content
- Specific walkthroughs
- Showcase potential, specific solutions through email lists
- Don't try to sell
- Information is free

### In relation to [[Educational content]]
Found in 12 principles of animation video:
> - The rebellion of teaching people things for free is the greatest, most heroic, mostly godly and noble thing you could possibly do. We have deprived ourselves of knowledge so much today in favor of profit and it is heartbreaking, disheartening, and infuriating. Thank you for this gift.
## Sell the implementation
Implementations are what allow the customer to make the transformation. This can come in the form of:
- [[Hidden/My Archives/digital products]]
- [[Paid membership]]
- Relate the solutions and ideas from your content to your product
- Not everyone will want such a detailed breakdown, and those who do want exactly what I'm showing can opt-in to pay for it if they do not want to create it themselves from scratch.
- [[Money]] is a way to validate that what I am working on is important, while also helping me survive to continue doing so.
## Examples
### August Bradley
[[August Bradley#Business model]]
One comment I saw in [[August Bradley]]'s video:
> I don't know what others are saying about being priced out of your work!? I watched a majority of your videos on the original PPV build and built one for myself, video by video tailoring it to my specifications and you put it out here for FREE! I would have NEVER used Notion at the level I use it today to manage certain outcomes of my life, business, and a compass if it wasn't for you, and providing all the necessary info here on YT. Everyone has to eat! One day, when the student is ready, the master will appear, and, I will gladly pay you! Because I know it would be a game changer and you have changed my life and business already with what you have produced here on YT
