The purpose of goal notes is to help gain clarity so we can remember our [[Vision]].
Clarity is cultivated through:
- breaking down your goal into smaller periodic timeframes to translate it from being a vague vision into actionable tasks
- brainstorming potential systems to get you there, then diverging into one that you want to follow through
Remembering is cultivated through:
- declaring your objective and why and reviewing it frequently
- setting up reminders to remember what [[Key metrics]] you have to achieve
[[Ali Abdaal]] recommends to turn your yearly goals into quarters, then directly into weeks, kind of like [[The 12 Week Year]].
Additionally, I personally also like to add monthly goals into the mix in case more organization might be needed, but I don't think it's a universal mandatory need.
As long as with your periodic review and planning system you have [[Alignment]] and clarity in your priorities, you can focus on [[Execution]].
After all, [[Keep goals adjustable and short-term]]
