[[cal laziness]]
laziness is not that you lack discipline, just that it is hard to navigate an uncertain information and obligation environment. we just need a strategy
this is control
calendar
task storage
multi-scale planning - periodic reviews - can just reference weekly review to choose what to do today, doesn't have to be full
shut down ritual
Two types with their own solutions:
## Elite Laziness
elite laziness - already doing well but feel like they can do better
based on late stage capitalism
inverse law of accomplishment - the more impressive the thing you want to do is, the less impressive things you can work on
in reality, its hard to navigate an open ended achievement environment as a high performer
book writers usually have elite laziness, so they might not be as relatable to people who ae foundationally lazy
## Foundational Laziness
inconsistent
constant reaction to things, need total loop closure
Solution:
- offload into tasks and second brain.
- autopilot systems (habits)
- recreate motivation by having a vision, like when you were in school
- get concrete evidence that effort will lead to something
- people look to cal's student books because he has proved he has made a transformation
