## Highlights
99% of writers fall into the same trap:
Trying to write for everyone.
But writing for everyone means writing for _no one_.
Here's how I use ChatGPT to get specific and take 1 idea and turn it into a newsletter topic in 11 minutes:

I use a framework called Pinpoint Writing.
With it, I can gain clarity about my target reader:
- What's the problem?
- Who am I solving it for?
- What emotion am I creating?
When you answer these, you can gear your content towards a specific avatar.
Let's dive in! ([View Tweet](https://twitter.com/Nicolascole77/status/1767930792624165060))
Step 1: Pick a topic.
It can be a rough idea or even a fleeting thought.
- “Scenic roadside photos on I-70 westbound.”
- “I forgot to eat breakfast. It ruined my morning.”
Choose anything on your mind that you haven’t spent enough time thinking through yet. ([View Tweet](https://twitter.com/Nicolascole77/status/1767930796331913400))
Step 2: Run the “Pinpoint Writing” prompt.
Give ChatGPT your topic and it will:
- Ask you questions
- Challenge your biases
- Even offer a new perspective
In essence, it’s like having a mentor on speed dial. ([View Tweet](https://twitter.com/Nicolascole77/status/1767930800761106695))
Step 3: Think WITH ChatGPT.
Treat the conversation like one you would have with a curious friend or mentor.
- Give feedback
- Pose questions
- Guide the direction
You might be surprised how a simple back and forth can unearth layers of depth in your thinking.

Step 4: Ask ChatGPT to sum up your thoughts.
When you're done “thinking,” ChatGPT can summarize everything for you.
Take the:
- Problems
- Emotions
- Benefits
And ChatGPT can turn your idea into anything you want!

Step 5: Repurpose your thoughts.
After you’ve done the thinking, writing is simple.
Especially with AI.
It can turn your thinking into:
- Headlines
- A newsletter
- An “X” post, etc.
For example: ([View Tweet](https://twitter.com/Nicolascole77/status/1767930820159807740))
Ask ChatGPT to brainstorm a list of “Irresistible Headlines.”
Then turn a headline into a newsletter (or article) using a template.

Step 3: Think WITH ChatGPT.
Step 4: Ask ChatGPT to sum up your thoughts.
Step 5: Repurpose your thoughts.
And just like that, you’ve gone from an idea to well-thought-out content in minutes. ([View Tweet](https://twitter.com/Nicolascole77/status/1767930832923000962))
