## Summary ## Notes Hey Mari! I just wanted to join and say that your recent rebranding video resonated with me. I was going to post this in the Discord after joining Patreon but the invite link seems to be invalid 😭 If there is a working link I would appreciate it! I'm a fellow ADHD-C and mostly educational VTuber that started gaining a following on my YouTube channel creating tutorials driven by my own curiosity, but didn't bother experimenting new video styles or topics for a fear of impacting my momentum and brand. I still enjoy making tutorials for the same reason you mentioned of just learning and sharing your own solutions to problems to help others, but with the intent of trying to make this a living, I've had to cater to the YouTube algorithm and audience requests a bit more than I should, which tips the balance of maintaining a level of intrinsically driven creation. I've been able to learn the monetization aspect of YouTuber through newsletters, digital products, etc. which has been fun, but I do miss the purely creative aspect of it. I initially came across your channel because I've recently been looking into 3D models and found your videos on it, and stayed because I enjoy the more commentary-style aproach to VTubing that I ideally want to aspire towards 🤩 The dilemma I have is how being a VTuber affects the perception of my authority—my niche naturally includes middle-aged corporate workers learning how to manage their life better, and they're not always the most receptive to a purple haired anime boy appearing on their screen 😅 But at the same time, it allows me to add a flair in my branding that the average self-help guru would not be able to. It's a tough ask Out of curiosity what does your ideal audience look like and what type of content would you want to make for that? Just like how I'm contemplating dropping the VTuber persona, are you rebranding from the child-like aesthetic because you want people to take you more seriously? ## Highlights - Talks about branding - Another vtuber rebranded to be something more lewd but ended up having to revert - Existential pondering on her own rebranding - Just wants to help people with knowledge - Used to only make tutorials to share this knowledge, but that only made people criticize - Being vulnerable about her own fear of having to graduate because of a failure in rebranding
