> Get the right kind of music going, it's time to focus 😎 ## Brainstorming ### Topic %%What is the big idea you're thinking about? Why are you writing this? %% ### References %%Are there any existing notes, resources, or experiences that come to mind related to the topic? For each thing, why is it related and how can it be helpful? %% This is an example of an [integration guide](https://www.morgen.so/guides/integrate-and-time-block-tasks-from-obsidian). The intent is first and foremost to help understand how to set-up the integration, set their expectations for how it will work, and provide any trouble-shooting to avoid customer service requests. For Apple Reminders, the key things I need to understand are: - Any specific steps to connecting the integration. Specifically are there choices people need to make when connecting the integration that determine which tasks will import, as well as what information. - What information can map to Morgen (ex. are their time estimates, due dates, etc.)? - What information syncs from Morgen back to Reminders? (ex. status, due date changes, etc.) - Are there any behaviors that may be confusing or unexpected? For example, does Reminders have recurrent tasks, and if so, how do those appear in Morgen? - Are there any limits (ex. number of tasks that sync)? - With Notion people connect databases, with ClickUp workspaces… is there an equivalent with Reminders or is it just all tasks/lists? - Are there any nice touches such as visual queues from Reminders into the way the tasks are shown in Morgen that I should make sure are captured in the images? I think that's it. ### Brain Dump %% Write out any other thoughts that come to mind, then create a cognitive scaffolding that combines your references and brain dump. Break it down into branches and sub-ideas for further elaboration %% - Any specific steps to connecting the integration. Specifically are there choices people need to make when connecting the integration that determine which tasks will import, as well as what information. - Specific steps: - Just like the Obsidian integration, you can see a section in "Local Integrations" for "Apple Reminders" that is only available for MacOS devices - In this settings page, you will have an option to "Connect", which will then show a pop-up confirming whether you want to give Morgen access to AR. If you select "Don't allow", you will have to go to your device's "Privacy and Security" settings, select Reminders, then toggle Morgen to have access - Sometimes, if reminders are not showing, you can try to quit and re-open Morgen - What information can map to Morgen (ex. are their time estimates, due dates, etc.)? - Due dates with times - Notes - Lists - Priorities - What information syncs from Morgen back to Reminders? (ex. status, due date changes, etc.) - Completion of tasks - Due date and time changes - Are there any behaviors that may be confusing or unexpected? For example, does Reminders have recurrent tasks, and if so, how do those appear in Morgen? - I don't think it's unexpected because it's the same behavior as the Reminders app, but recurring reminders will only show the next instance rather than an instance on each day in your list. (i guess this is different than how it shows on the Apple Calendar I think, which does show it on each day?) - Are there any limits (ex. number of tasks that sync)? - Haven't stress tested but I think Marco said it seemed to be fine? - With Notion people connect databases, with ClickUp workspaces… is there an equivalent with Reminders or is it just all tasks/lists? - There are technically groups but they're part of iOS features but unfortunately there is no way to access them with the way we have them integrated. everything seems to be merged into just one general space, just like Obsidian currently is - Are there any nice touches such as visual queues from Reminders into the way the tasks are shown in Morgen that I should make sure are captured in the images? - The lists are colored and have the list icon, but are differently renderred than Reminders show (reminders has a circle background that has the color) - priority colors for exclamation marks are currently always red, when in Reminders they are the same color as the task list ## Organized Ideas %% A place to start your rough (or maybe even final) draft. What writing framework or checklist best works to guide you towards your ideal finished product? %% ## Potential Outputs %% What can I use these ideas for? Content, new notes, etc. %%
