My generation, Gen Z, lives online.
Some do it for social validation through hookups and social media popularity.
Others do it to distract themselves from the harsh real world.
But some… some do it because of intellectual loneliness.
After reading my first self-help book, I felt alienated trying to share these ideas with anyone else.
Sure I could journal my reflections and thoughts, but it didn't feel the same as sharing these ideas with like-minded, driven people.
So I dived deeper into the parasocial rabbit holes curated by my online feeds.
And as I continued to learn and grow in this digital environment, it only further separated me from my physical one.
I wasn't on the same algorithm as my friends, full of video games and half-naked women.
I had access to the brightest minds at my fingertips through an infinite sea of books and knowledge.
As a result, my worldview and ambitions exceeded the expectations my parents and teachers had for me.
I could no longer see the world the same.
The internet gave me a new lens, one of ideas and opportunities.
Following the same ideology, what if I were to approach my socialization and self-expression the same way?
Meeting kindred souls through serendipity in the little corners of the internet.
People who shared the same prior upbringing, varied interests, and future visions.
And now, I can pay homage to the people who have helped me get to where I am by continuing the cycle through my own content creation.
Radical transparency in my thoughts and experiences through [[My Digital Galaxy]] to shine a light on those who were once in my shoes or still are.
To help those who have no choice but to live online.
