To create a new quarterly review, I run the following command:
`📆 Create Quarterly Note (ex. 2022-Q3)`
## Recap
The first part of your quarterly review is to analyze your monthly reviews and progress from a higher-order perspective 🌌
### Months
This is where you will see a summary of your months, highlighting the important parts like the summary and your biggest personal achievements.
### Key Metrics
Where the values you were tracking in your daily notes get visualized and averaged out.
In the Ultimate Starter Vault, the defaults are
- the four energies (see [[Energy is multi-dimensional]])
- A meditation habit
#### Wheel of Life
A reminder to see how well we are doing in the areas of the [[Wheel of life]]
### Tasks
If using the tasks plugin, see which tasks you completed throughout the week.
## Reflection
During the `Reflection` part of your weekly review, you transform your recap into insights for growth and understanding, also summarizing it even more when you look at this review from the quarterly perspective.
> [!TIP]+ Keep it actionable!
> Whenever you have something you want to remember (tasks, reminders) for your planning session in your next periodic review, turn it into a markdown checkbox to see it in the [[#Action Items]] of your next periodic review
>
> - [ ] like this
### Goal Reflection
For the goals and projects you worked on, head over to the `Productivity` header to reflect upon your progress.
For finished goals, follow [[My goal setting workflow#Finishing a goal]]
### Wheel of Life
Rate yourself in each [[Wheel of life]] area to gauge whether you are on the right path for your ideal values created in your [[Yearly reviews]]
I highly recommend taking the time to reflect on what each rating meant to you during that quarter.
When I find myself not reaching a certain rating, I take the time to:
- Explicitly mention and write it down under the wheel
- ex) Mission 7 instead of 9
- Write why this was the case and how you felt about it
- ex) I found myself distracted by other opportunities
- Evaluate whether you want to adjust the rating, or troubleshoot and find a way to make it the desired rating for next time
- ex) Stick to my quarterly goals, be less flexible with adding any
### Reflection Prompts
After your reflection is over, it's time to do the planning process for the week ahead in the next weekly ;)
## Plan
Create the review note for the next quarter and gain clarity on what you want to do.
[[Revise higher-order goals for alignment]]
### Action Items
`### Action items` will look for all the uncompleted tasks `- [ ]` in the last perioidic review note so you remember the actionable things you wanted to work on or reminders to guide your planning
### Goals

If there is any upcoming goal or outcome you are looking to achieve that wasn't clarified enough by your quarterly goals, you can turn to [[My goal setting workflow]] to create monthly goals
For quarterly planning specifically, you can take inspiration from [[The 12 Week Year]]
