You can see my resume in my [Linkedin](https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-mavrick-reyes/), but I have experience as a front-end developer in small bootstrapped apps, small companies, and a global 500 company
- Sept 2021 - Enrolled in Simon Fraser University as a Computer Science major for two semesters
- Self-learned JavaScript, React, all the goods to take part in hackathons and make personal projects
- Self-learning helped me learn skills that were directly relevant for the job, making me second guess the need for a formal education
- May 2022 - Front-end intern at Excelar Technologies for 8 months
- The startup environment was invaluable for giving me autonomy, and it helped me refine my independence as a developer
- Jan 2023 - SAP
- Yum yum corporate life
- Technically I worked for a global 500 company then?
- Got to see how things scale, but the rigidity and lack of autonomy was not as fun for me
- Feb 2024 - Resigned early (I had agreed to stay until April) to pursue content creation and be [[LYT Product Manager]]
Although I'm not doing anything development-related anymore, I learned a lot from the work and can always revisit it if my plan for content creation fails 😅
