![[USV Workflow Callout]] > [!INFO] Video Example > I recorded my entire 2024-W05 process so you can see a REAL example on how I use it https://youtu.be/VqlzlnLLD0g > > This review workflow is similar to how I do other ones like monthly, quarterly, and yearly - the core of recap, reflection, and plan is the same, just with the context of the current timeframe. ## Creation To create a new weekly review, I open the [[Obsidian Journals Plugin]] in the bottom right of the right sidebar and click on the week number under the "W": ![](https://i.imgur.com/QROipH3.png) For the week 2024-W01, it would be a review of the days to the right of it, which would be January 1-7. The [[#Recap]] and [[#Reflection]] sections are only fully effective if you have completed your daily notes and have a [[#Plan]] for this current week. If otherwise (e.g., this is your first weekly review), I would skip straight to next week's note and fill out the [[#Plan]] phase. ## Recap ![[Actionable Review Callout]] The first part of your weekly review to analyze your past week and see your day-to-day journalling and progress from a higher-order perspective 🌌 ### Getting Things Done First, let's review our projects and tasks from last week to wrap up the previous week and make room for new opportunities. We can follow a [[My Inputs/My Books/Getting Things Done]]-inspired workflow to review our progress and remaining actions. If you use the built-in Obsidian task management system, you can head to the [[My Tasks]] note to see the different kinds of tasks such as your inbox, someday/maybe tasks, waiting for, etc. To review the past week: - [ ] Process tasks and notes in your inbox, moving them to the relevant notes, life categories, projects, or dates - [ ] Revisit any overdue or outstanding tasks from this week, moving them to the relevant life categories, projects, or dates - [ ] Process any [[Fleeting Notes]] that could be relevant for your reflection and planning - [ ] Revisit this [[Weekly Reviews#Projects]] to review our progress - In my[[Ultimate Starter Vault]] workflow: - For each project in the [[#Projects]] list, you can go into the note and then go to the weekly progress' `Reflection` header. Fill out a concise summary of our progress in the input box and any supporting details under it - ![](https://i.imgur.com/x6dS4Ff.png) - (Optional) If you'd like, feel free to copy paste the prompts in the final `Reflection` header into the weekly one for more guidance - For finished projects, fill out the project's `## Reflection` header and set the status to 🟩 As we start this weekly review, we will need to reorient ourselves with the bigger picture. This helps provide context to what our progress this week means in relation with the future and [[My Alignment Philosophy|our higher-order plans]]. - [ ] Review your higher-order goals in [[My Vision Board]] - [ ] Review calendar - Do you have any reminders and important upcoming events you may need to prepare for? Keep them in mind during the [[#Plan]] phase - [ ] Review all your upcoming tasks for this week to know what the current workload is already like - [[My Tasks#Due In 7 Days]] - [ ] Review "Waiting For" List - Is there anything you can now move as ready to work on in your to-do list? - [ ] Revisit your [[Someday Maybe List]] - Is there anything you would like to start working on as a new project for the week? Keep them in mind during the [[#Plan]] phase Now that we have an understanding of our past week's tasks and projects, let's delve deeper into the rest of what happened that week. - [ ] [[Weekly Reviews#Days]] to see an overview of what happened - [ ] [[Weekly Reviews#New notes]] to see what notes you made - [ ] [[Weekly Reviews#Key Results]] to see what happened - [ ] [[Weekly Reviews#Completed Tasks]] to see what you accomplished - [ ] Review [[Habits]] tracking to see your consistent progress towards your longer-term goals Now that we have an overview of how the week went in our working memory, we can start reflecting! ## Reflection ![[Actionable Review Callout]] ### Project Reflection During the `Reflection` part of our weekly review, you transform your recap into insights for growth and understanding, also summarizing it even more when you look at this review from the monthly perspective. For any projects you finished, fill out the weekly progress reflection section under the plan you made for the week. Feel free to copy the final reflection questions for inspiration! If instead you already finished the project, you can head straight to [[Project Template#Reflection]] section, updating the status to 🟩 or whatever the appropriate status is. ### Wheel of Life Rate yourself in each area in the [[Wheel of life]] to gauge whether you are on the right path for working towards your ideal goals in [[My Vision Board]] ### Reflection Prompts #### Learning Review To help you come up with insights and patterns based on the notes created.
