After [[Knowledge Accelerator Presentation Slides]], had a question from Bruce about the deeper meaning and meta-process behind how I got to that point in my setup.
it has been a process of development that continued to evolve as my needs and understanding of obsidian/LOS continues to evolve. for the most part any advancements i made turned into videos, but as of recently it has been more personal explorations and adjustments in my newsletters/products because making videos on top takes more energy and time than i have 🥲
when i first started using obsidian it was founded on using it for school with no planned intent of using it for future needs like managing work, creating content, or handling this much information/intention, so i felt i wanted to have a fresh start with the experience and knowledge i have now to create something more antifragile of changing use cases and scalable.
and that has been a slow culmination as i learned from more productivity books than someone should read in their lifetime, new plugins that allowed for new things, other people's use cases, and more to help think of a system to help with the above.
my eventual goal is to help people like my 17 year old self be exposed to the potential of life operating systems as a whole, and that i feel is best done with understandable metaphors like the galaxy analogy.
on providing answers but not the driving needs:
yes you are right that there's not much meta stuff and personal meaning behind my existing videos and tutorials, mostly because of how earlier in my journey i focused on just making youtube videos and content optimized for quantitative views and retention rather than putting in more effort to my own personal thought process and use cases. i think that's one thing i regret not doing throughout my journey of developing this system as consistently because now its harder to help people learn from the pain points of the different questions along the way, especially for the target audience in my eventual goal.
the closest thing i have for explaining the benefits/reasoning behind each note type in the system is the "Why" header section in each note inside [USV Glossary](https://notes.johnmavrick.com/USV+Glossary), and a bit in the [USV Philosophy](https://notes.johnmavrick.com/USV+Philosophy) note for the higher order use cases i mentioned in the presentation, but it all is ultimately tied back to the idea of "Digital Self-Actualization". it's only recently when i took some time away from the achievement-first approach to productivity where i am having a chance to better explore this myself. on top of other recent discoveries like getting diagnosed with ADHD, it's given me more points to consider as to why i am compelled with LOS as a whole, stripped away from its initial productivity-led approach where i would resonate with the reasons other people posed for doing things.
in terms of setting up the life solar system part, i elaborated a bit on that in the start of my personal video for planning 2024 https://youtu.be/sj8oJeYHTDQ. in that video and the unlisted videos attached to my other notes on periodic review timeframes in the vault i've also included much more raw showcases of my interactions with the life design/productivity part. i think it can also tie in with the point you made in the other comment you linked this event: there's no ultimate system, so i've spent a lot of time experimenting with different setups and workflows, and what it is today is a still ongoing but reduced version of the things i felt were relevant and helpful to me.
on growth of meta-process:
meta as in how i developed my current system in its current state? or how i developed the taste/capacity to know how i wanted it to unfold? and is this referring to the actual obsidian technical implementation, or just the philosophies behind the systems?
this could be a lot to explore, so do you have any specific parts you would be most interested in to help you narrow down that search? what were you looking to gain out of this?
messy thoughts but hope the above helped and am curious to hear your thoughts as well !
