## Why
We need periodic reviews because clarity at multiple scales gives us confidence - we can see how our smaller actions are linked to our greater vision.
All periodic reviews have three main phases:
- Recap, reviewing the past periodic review and the smaller timeframes that happened during that period (ex. revisiting daily notes in my weekly review)
- Reflection, gives myself time to discover insights and better understand how it went by answering prompts
- Plan, using my reflection to inform my future direction and focus for the upcoming period
For a real personal example of these three different phases, you can see the video I mention in [[My weekly review workflow]]. There are some minor differences in the templates for the different timeframes but it is a good primer.
Right now in my [[My Periodic Reviews]] system, I have the following workflow:
[[Yearly reviews]]
[[Quarterly reviews]]
[[Monthly reviews]]
