![[Servant Hedonism My Life Philosophy#^fc8jeh]]
Still need to understand the nuances between this and [[Utilitarianism]]
- we can't achieve this consciously, but first step is to have definitions for both Self and Love
- we won't make progress in understanding unless we have a mystical experience of the self and of love
- Psychedelics, yoga, contemplation, breathing, meditation
- when we do this, all the other problems will auto-correct themselves
- Can be used as a moral compass for how much you should care about content/something
- [[Mindfulness]] is self-love
- it cannot wish or deny bad things about itself because it would be rejecting that the unit, A, is not A. we should just be in [[Being mode]]
- Reminds me of [[Agape]]
According to [[Alex Hormozi]], is holding yourself to a higher standard than everyone else
- once you learn how to improve your life, if you dont do it then you are simply self-sabotaging
- alex accepts circumstances, but not complacency, he sees complacency as failure
### Misconceptions
- narcisissm is small s self love
### Self
- Self is the ultimate self, not as our selves but the awakened self we really are, the entire universe as [[Everything is connected]]
### Love
- The collective benefit of the Self, usually promoting [[Long-term thinking]]
- Makes it so you are not a people pleaser
- For example, leaving a toxic relationship when you know it will negatively affect both of you.
- You want both people to grow, and keeping yourself stuck there is not [[Self-Love]]
- Your partner to not perpetuate
- You so you can feel better
- Does not mean hedonism or imbalance - allows for [[Self-transcendence]]
- if you really loved your work, you would love the entire situation beyond the work that needs to be done
- body needs to be comfortable doing it, can't put yourself in a situation of overworking yourself or eating junk food
- The reason why you work at starbucks is because you didn't love yourself enough previously, gotten there accidentally without planning
- no sense of self, mission, etc
- you want to contribute in a meaningful way
- you could argue that you even work double because you care enough about yourself to get out of this situation, that you weren't living up to your potential
- you care about yourself too much to harm your future self, to pay rent, etc
- It requires us to have [[Empathy]]
- Not exploiting others for our own personal gain
- Gives us courage through [[Optimism]] and [[Higher states of consciousness]]
- if your job is currently inherently bad in terms of it's impact, to be capable of being a good person, you need to raise your level of self-love, beyond just needing a car and house, to help mankind as well
- why am i negatively impacting the world when i could be creating something new that is better?
## Cultivating Self-Love
- you start with yourself, then slowly ramp it up alongside other things you find close to you like partner, friends, work, then your city, social problems, etc
- to love is to appreciate it's beauty and accept it
- be conscious of amazing, magical, and surreal things are
- everything is our own reflection, it is a part of our mind as we add our own subjectivity to the world. therefore our interpretations and experience of the world is a part of us
- self love is transcending beyond conditional love into [[Unconditional positive regard]]
- in conditional love your love isn't directed about the other thing, but for ourselves out of selfishness
- so proof that people are narcissistic is if they have such levels of conditional love
- you're loving parts of yourself
- when your identity becomes one with the universe and your love becomes unlimited, that's when you feel awakened, feel most ecstatic
- this is what a mystical experience is
- Mindsets
- how is self love lacking here?
- i love being myself, i love the whole situation
