why should you split youtube channels ### Is splitting worth it If YouTube recommends your videos based on Audience, it might be smarter to split so your video can naturally be recommended to relevant people https://www.reddit.com/r/youtubers/comments/12e530d/is_splitting_your_audience_a_good_or_bad_move_2/ Create another channel, it’s better for many reasons: - Two streams of ad revenue, sponsorships, etc. - Your audience doesn’t have to worry about content change on the channel that they have subscribed to. - Isolated analytics for that niche - This channel may draw in an audience that you couldn’t have reached on your other channel. - You may draw in an audience to your main channel from second channel - Don’t have to worry about mixed audience pools. Based off of these points, it makes sense for me to keep it separate, as i can still have a nice mix between both. ### Creating a new one - Right now I have a mix of two types of audiences: - USV introduction videos and people who tried searching up chainsaw man sex 💀 - By posting on Reddits and other already organized channels, maybe you can quickly set the intended audience of your channel? - So once I post, I should make a post? - Taking educational content audience strategy into mind though, who is my ideal? - Ideally I would act on behalf of an educational vtuber - But then alternatively, there's also other channels who are able to climb out of the ashes - I just don't like the vibe I have set up with my 2 existing videos, would prefer to have this one as like a VODS channel or something lmao - So then what would my ideal look like? ## Split types - Value vs connection - Value means focused on the content and ideas - Connection means focused on who I am as a person - Intellectually experienced vs young - Experienced is people who are open to self-learning and know what they want ### Primary - John Mavrick - ! The tech needs to be interesting - Goal is for business + authority, sharing what I learned - [[Educational content]] - Detailed workflows - Value-based - Active learning #### Needs - Tutorials - Teaching ### Secondary - John Mavrick Wanders - ! I need to be interesting - Goal is to nurture for streaming - Storytelling - To build connection - Ideas-based - For relaxing #### Needs - Engagement - Entertainment - Thoughtfulness - Relaxing - Learning - Not necessarily school/academic, but channels that teach me something new. Channels like Horses, Sisyphus55, Veratisium and even movie/book video essays. - https://www.reddit.com/r/ifyoulikeblank/comments/1b22en8/iil_youtube_channels_that_make_me_feel_like_im/ ### Mixed - Video essays - depend on presentation style and content of the video essay - Main channel would have emphasis on the story - Second channel would have me slightly more in it ## Examples - [[Youtube case studies]] - [[My Youtube Inspirations]] - [[My Video Editing Inspirations]]
