> [!example] > [[My Weekly Notes]] ![[USV Content Callout]] ## Why No matter how lost or uninspired I may feel during the day-to-day happenings of my life, there’s solace in knowing my Sunday weekly reviews will revitalize me. My weekly reviews are vital for reflecting on my experiences, discovering personal insights, and pursuing my long-term goals with clarity and purpose. After two years of experimentation, I'm here to share it with you as part of creating [[My Alignment Philosophy]] 🥳 ## What To give an overview, my weekly review is comprised of three phases: [[#Recap]] Once we wrap up the past week, we see the culmination of our efforts from our day-to-day journalling and progress from a higher-order perspective instead of being in the weeds. [[#Reflection]] Discover insights from this high-level view for deeper understanding and growth. By highlighting and preserving what was important from the week, we can prepare ourselves for when we do our monthly reviews or plan for the week ahead. We also use this time to measure long-term metrics like [[Wheel of life]] [[#Plan]] We turn these insights into actions and improvements for the next week. We continue progressing toward our higher-order goals by clarifying intentions on what projects we will focus on. These reviews are not only useful for the week, but also become the the foundation when doing higher-order reviews like [[Monthly reviews]] Break down my projects into actionable tasks I can work on throughout the week, see [[Break down tasks for clarity and gradual progress]] ## How ### Steps If you want inspiration for your weekly reviews, you can check out [[My weekly review workflow]] note in my published notes for a 1400-word comprehensive deep dive into my process. ### When to do The last work-day of the week is the best time for the weekly review since: 1. The events of the week are still fresh in your mind 2. You can communicate with coworkers before they leave for the weekend 3. You can leave all mental baggage behind to enjoy the weekend Since I can work on my personal projects every day, I just have my weekly review at Sunday since Monday is usually the start of the week. When planning what I want to do I can estimate work that will take the weekday, and have the weekend as a buffer in case I wasn't able to get everything done. ### Structure #### Plan ##### Action Items This helps you remember the actionable things or reminders you wanted to work on. If you've been creating markdown checkboxes throughout the [[#Recap]] and [[#Reflection]] phase, the `### Action items` header will show all the uncompleted tasks `- [ ]` from the last periodic review note. ##### Projects List of projects for the week #### Recap ##### Days This is where you will see an overview of your days, highlighting the important parts like the rating, `Summary`, `Story` , and journals. ![](https://i.imgur.com/238PrMo.png) Feel free to hover on the icons in the "✍️" section to see the different headers you filled out during your daily reflection to spot patterns: - **Thoughts** 💭 for any developing ideas that were simmering - **Improvements** 💪 for the unplanned 1% daily growth you strived for - **Obstacles** 🚧 for any repeating problems - **Accomplishments** ✅ for remembering - **Gratitude** 🙏 icon to see what you appreciated during those days - **Content Log** 📚 for content that didn't have it's own input note for still had takeaways from ##### Logs For any [[Daily notes#Tag-based logs]] you want to track. By default the USV has a query to aggregate the `Obstacles` throughout the week ##### New notes ![](https://i.imgur.com/miAcJCo.png) Just a high-order view to see what your learning/thinking focus was on, which is especially handy for [[#Reflection]]. It's also nice to look back and feel good about how a consistent note-taking habit compounds, even from a single week 😎 These notes are displayed in alphabetical order. If you want to see them by date created you can change the query code from `SORT file.name` to `SORT Created desc` ##### Completed Tasks Automatic if you use [[Tasks Plugin]] ##### Key Results Where the values you were tracking in your daily notes get visualized. By default, the USV helps you with tracking your energy levels throughout the week. ![500](https://i.imgur.com/BoWQhOO.png) To start tracking your own metrics or habits, see [[My habit tracking workflow]] ##### Tasks If using the tasks plugin, you can use this header to see which tasks you completed throughout the week. Otherwise, you can go to your task management app, (which in my case is [[Akiflow]]) #### Reflection Reflection prompts for you to answer. ## Problems For some reason [[Templater Plugin]] variables don’t work when you create a note for 2022-W53, since I guess it doesn’t interpret it as a year? My suggestion would be to manually just add the dates and links yourself this one time - in graphs - in links to other periodic notes - in dataview queries And on 2023-w01, make the previous link to w53 instead of w52.
